The satellite used for free DTH in India is GSAT 15, positioned at 93° East. This satellite is utilized by DD Free Dish, India's first free DTH service, which was launched by public broadcaster Prasar Bharati in December 2004.
GSAT-15 is a communication satellite launched by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) on November 11, 2015.
